Which Android Phone Are You Planning On Getting? [Poll]

With so many phones coming out soon, from the likes of HTC, LG, Samsung and Sony Ericsson, we thought it would be interesting to know what phone your going to purchase or at least which phone is in your wish-list. There’s too many phones to list so I haven’t put them all down in the Poll, but I’ve listed the ones I think stand out among the rest.

Also, let us know why you want the phone you have chosen in the comments, thank you guys.

I guessing your stuck in a contract?

  • Jasmine

I want an HTD Desire HD, but stuck with my Blackberry 8900 :’(

  • http://www.amugofjava.me.uk Ben

I will be going for either the Wildfire S or the original Wildfire depending upon the price of the S.

Of course, every devices have some spesific advantages like HTC Desire HD but in terms of overall, I’d go with Iphone because I am an apps/games man. So If we are talking about apps/games everyone should accept IOS rulez.

  • Raju Rahman

I cant argue with the issues you’ve raised, cause most of them are true, but the Desire HD does also have many advantages and good things about it.

  • Raju Rahman

It would be great if HTC came out with something great, hopefully rumours of the HTC Desire HD 2 comes true.

  • Raju Rahman

I’ve only listed phones featured at MWC, phones that will be coming out very soon. The Desire HD has been out for some time hence the reason why it’s not listed.

Desire HD not in the list?

  • Hiphopjunky1

Optimus 3d to take 3d nature shots would be so awesome, as long as it shoots 1080p, if not i will go
Galaxy s2, i have the desire hd atm, so im not in a rush to upgrade however, but i hope htc comes with something better than optimus 3d or galaxy s2, coz i want to stick w htc

Raju, I guess it’ because my wife has an Iphone 3Gs and I have always compared my Desire HD with an Iphone in terms of apps/games. But apart from IOS vs Android difference, here are the below complaints of myself and I sold it after 1 week :)

    General

    - Volume buttons are so close to each other which causes you not make sure If you did what you want (increase or decrease). You always feel that you should see with your eyses that you pressed the correct one.
    - Upper left Power button, that sucks. Not only it’s a different concept but also it’s so close to volume buttons as well. It’s so likely that you accidentally press volume buttons when you try to press only power button and that makes you crazy.
    - 3.5 mm jack under the phone, that sucks as well. Once you wear headset and want to play with your device vertically or horizontally it’s always bothering you (especially on vertically times)
    - 4 menu buttons are crapped once you try to do something on the screen, there so many times I accidentally pressed one of them and find my self on search or home screen.
    - I have not seen any device which have got a terrible battery cover before. I start to pray not to break it every time I try to open.

    Audio

    - Everyone should accept that this phone’s speaker sucks. It’s not loud and not quality as well. I got my friends Iphone near my Desire HD and played same quality songs and played same games and Desire HD need so much way to jump.
    - Music quality is crapped again. If you are on headset maybe you have a chance for an enough quality with SRS effects but without them quality is zero compared to Iphone.
    - I am not even bothering to talking about EQ settings which are enable only when you are on headsets, they really really suck.
    - Speaker on the back of the phone. I wonder who might have got that brilliant idea because it should be at the bottom or on the top of the device so that the user himself can hear that crazy low sound.
    - FM Radio reception is too bad. FM Radio openning / closing time is so long. You have to use wired headsets (for antenna) to work FM

talk about over-priced handsets and the first that come’s to mind is the iPhone… at least with Galaxy II you get your money’s worth.

Either way I we will get better contracts on Galaxy than on the iPhone.

if you have not guessed my next contract update ill be asking for a Galaxy II… why?
oh well… dual core and NFC are just too mouth watering to resist :)

I have a Desire HD and i’m loving it

  • Raju Rahman

What did you dislike about the Desire HD?

  • Raju Rahman

I completely agree with you, some very good points there. In terms of a Desire HD 2, there were some leaks:
    http://hemorrdroids.net/galaxy-s-2-desire-hd2-desire-2-wildfire-2-specs-leaked/

but since then, I haven’t really seen or heard anything else about it.

Honestly, I think I’m unlikely to own any of them.

    From top to bottom –
    * The Desire S doesn’t looks much of an improvement over the old desire.
    * The incredible S is better but still nothing amazing.
    * Wildfire will i’m sure be a great phone for it’s price range, but not what I’m looking for.
    * Chacha and Salsa… no…
    * Galaxy S2 looks amazing, but also amazingly expensive, unless its available on a great contract deal, I can’t afford it.
    * Experia play looks good, but I think i’ll wait and see on that one, find out what Sony does with it.
    * The Arc is a very sexy looking phone, but much like the Desire S, seems like not much of an improvement (no dual core for example).
    * The Neo… I guess it’s an xperia for people who like to shoot video? Not my type of thing.
    * Xperia Pro, an Arc but with a keyboard and less sexy?… pass.
    * Optimus 2X looks good, probably the best of the bunch, just the LG thing puts me off (don’t even know why) but I’m sure I could get over it. Call that a maybe.
*Optimus 3D, I’d really have to see the 3D in action and see what potential it has first, as it stands, I could just be another gimmicky 3D bandwagon jumper.
    * Atrix looks great with it’s docking solutions, but seems like a massively expensive package. Ok if you’re also looking to replace your Netbook I suppose. But I’m not.

I’m disappointed nobody has yet come out with anything to rival the Dell Streak’s 5″ screen. I like a big screen. The prevailing opinion seems to be that 5″ = half-arsed tablet, unfortunately. But it’s more than that. Give me something with a 5″ screen, dual core, 1GB RAM, running gingerbread, and I’m pretty much sold. A better camera would be nice too, but that’s the cherry on the cake really.

If something like that doesn’t emerge, I may go for the Optimus 2X, So I’ll vote for that… Is there a Desire HD S planned? That’d be nice too.

i will stick to my iphone 4. i have not seen a decent android phone that i can compete against a motorola droid/milestone. galaxy s ii is very promising but still does not waver me of iphone 4

Got to be the SGS2. Got a DHD, returned it. Speakers and battery terrible. Running an Orange San Francisco until the Sammy comes out. A nice size battery and hopefully (if anything the SGS was to go by) some decent speakers. I just wish HTC would release a flagship with a decent battery and speakers….
