O Froyo, Froyo, where art thou Froyo? That’s what a lot of as are asking at the moment, and it looks like Orange HTC Desire users are being given the delay treatment they so fondly have been missing.

According to The Inquirer, Vodafone should be releasing the update (Android 2.2) for their branded HTC Desire’s in the coming few days.

Apparently, this will also remove all those pesky bloat-ware (360 applications) that has been annoying a lot of folks.

Three Announces HTC Hero And HTC Desire Upgrade Dates

Well they kind of do, it’s not specific but it’s something. Everyone and their Grandmothers are anticipating  the upgrade to their phones and at Hemorrdroids there has been plenty of news regarding Android 2.1 and 2.2.

Orange have already announced their update process for the Desire, saying that it could take up to four weeks, and it seems that according to TechRadar Three will take just about the same time. So, the schedule for updating the Desire is roughly the same as other Networks, but in terms of updating the Hero, Three seem to be a bit late into the game.

Official: HTC Rolling Out Android 2.2 For Europeans

You may or may not have read our article about the Tweets Mark Moons left on his Twitter page regarding the HTC Desire and the Android 2.2 roll out for Dutch Devices, some of you in other European countries may have rolled your eyes and yawned at the news but here’s something to wake you up with.

Well HTC have announced that the highly anticipated upgrade to Android 2.2 is going to happen starting this weekend for some lucky European dudes and dudettes, provided that your HTC Desire in not network locked. That means you must have purchased SIM free phone not locked to any network. Now if you did get your phone from Orange, T-Mobile or any other network, you will I’m afraid have to wait a bit longer due to tests that networks have to do.

But the wait is worth it, read on to here about some very good new features you will be getting with Android 2.2.

HTC Reminds Us About AMOLED Shortages

As if the world didn’t already know that there is a shortage in AMOLED screens, and that HTC are going to be using an SLCD (Super LCD) to fill the demand. Well, in a new press release, HTC is confirming exactly this; the supply of AMOLED screens by Samsung are not meating the demands of the HTC Desire and Nexus One.

Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth Headset Works Fine With HTC Desire

 

I’ve had a few people ask me whether it would be possible to connect the MW600 bluetooth headset to the HTC Desire, well actually I tried it out and found it to be very good indeed.

Now if your someone who tends to regularly drive, cycle, ski, cook, clean, or even sky dive and as a matter of fact doing anything that requires your hands be free, then your probably someone who already uses a bluetooth headset. But, this device is slightly more complicated than that, in a good way of course.

Android 2.2 With Sense For Desire!

We have all heard many rumours and speculations as to the date HTC will update the Desire with Android 2.2 with sense. There are many ports of Android 2.2 available but they’re the vanilla versions and a lot of people can’t seem to live without HTC’s Sense UI. Well, I have some good news if your one of those people.

Wireless N Hacked For HTC Desire!!!

WOW, the devs over at the XDA-Forum never cease to surprise me. A member by the name of “liamstears”  has got Wireless N running on the HTC Desire with Android 2.1.

Wireless N “is an upcoming industry standard for high-speed Wi-Fi networking. 802.11n is designed to replace the 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g Wi-Fi standards for local area networking.”
