Send To Phone Available For Firefox

Now that Android 2.2/Froyo is being pushed to HTC Desire’s around Europe, we thought we would share a little something with you. It’s a very useful Android 2.2 feature that  we’ve already posted a video about (how the “Chrome To Phone” Extension work), some time back but I thought that I write this article to remind you people that are new to Froyo.

The Chrome To Phone feature was only available to Google Chrome users but now according to the unofficial Google blog, there is now an extension for Firefox that has the same functionality.

Both “Chrome To Phone” and “Send To Phone” allow users users to send links from their browser to their Android device using Android’s Cloud to Device Messaging service.

Here’s our video of chrome to phone being demonstrated to give you an idea on what it does.

If your using Firefox hit the following link to download and install the Extension.

“Send To Phone”

If your using Chrome hit the following link to download and install the Extension.

“Chrome To Phone”

And please remember that it is also required that you install the chrometophone-android-v1.6.apk on to your phone regardless of whether your using “Send To Phone” or “Chrome To Phone”.

Obviously this feature is for Android 2.2 so if anyone has tried to use this feature, let us know how it went, I for sure love the feature.
