Samsung Teases Us With Another Galaxy Tab?

Samsung’s original 7 inch Galaxy Tab was a great success, it was one the first mainstream Android tablets, however it was criticised by many for using software that wasn’t tablet optimised.

Since then Google released Android 3.0 Honeycomb and we saw many manufacturers demonstrating the OS on their tablets, Samsung being one of them with their Galaxy Tab 10.1.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 looks very promising, however many potential users have expressed concerns over the size, expressing their view that the 7 inch form factor was much better. Well, a new teaser is up that suggests Samsung is planning to satisfy those critics.

The teaser image displays the number “78910”, which I think represents the different models of the Galaxy Tab, the 7 inch, the 10.1 inch and the soon to launch 8.9 inch Tab. This is great news, as people will be able to chose a size that is more suitable for them. The 8.9 inch form factor looks good and should be more portable if it’s anything like the LG Optimus Pad which also features an 8.9 inch screen.

The teased image doesn’t really give away much, but what it does show is a 3.5mm headphone jack. The bulge that can be seen seems to also imply that the Tab’s overall thickness is almost  the same as the headphone jack’s height. This should mean that the Tab will be something very slim, something that can compete with Apple’s 8.8mm thick iPad 2.

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is scheduled to be officially unveiled at CTIA on March 22, we will of course update you as we get more information.

Let us know what think.
