A rumour has just come out that Froyo (Android 2.2) will be hitting the HTC Desire this June, can this really be? Froyo all spiced up with sence in time to be released in June.

The information comes from an XDA member who contacted HTC with regards to his frustration about not having enough space to install more applications. The customer service rep was unable to give him a clear cut answer so he passed him over to his supervisor. Now this is where it gets interesting, the supervisor then goes on to say:

“But you never heard this from me…. A new update is coming the 23rd of June and you will be able to put some apps on to the micro sd card.”

So is this supervisor really talking the truth? I hope so, but lets just take it with a grain of salt just like any other rumour and I wouldn’t hold my breath either. Its taken HTC nearly a year to provide the HTC Hero with 2.1 so I doubt that Froyo will come out for the Desire just after one month.
