One of my first reviews was HelixLauncher2 which I had been using on my Nexus One. This has now been replaced by the very fast and slick ‘LauncherPro’ -
This has to be one of the most practical apps available on Android. I’ve got two problems fixed by the council on my street already!
This app requires root, but will then help control your CPU. If you have a kernel that allows it, you can overclock your CPU, but possibly more importantly, you can underclock it to save battery.
Needed or not? You decide… but if you use them, this is one of the more useful ones -
For anyone that travels a lot on London public transport, this is a worthwhile investment.
I really couldn’t be without Swype these days. Although I managed with a regular on screen keyboard, once you’ve used Swype and got the hang of all it’s shortcuts, you can enter text so fast you wouldn’t believe.
It is in closed beta at the moment, but it would seem folk at XDA Developers don’t want to wait…
